In a small town in Indiana with a population of fewer than a thousand and no dance school, 21-year-old Rowyn Colby (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has lived here since childhood. The small auto parts factory left by Rowyn's parents is now managed by her brother, and if nothing unexpected occurs, Rowyn's life will revolve around the factory... but this is not the life she wants. Rowyn has been self-studying dance for many years, and this time she drives to Chicago to take the entrance exam for a dance school, hoping to be admitted to change her life. However, the result is harsh. Unwilling to return home after being eliminated, Rowyn finds a job as an accountant in a ballroom, with the help of a senior who also failed the exam.
