Shy and introverted 15-year-old high school student David Rice (played by Max Thieriot) has a bleak childhood; his mother left when he was five, and his father is abusive. He is often bullied by classmates at school. One day, he accidentally falls into an icy cave and discovers he possesses the amazing ability of teleportation. This power allows David to instantaneously transport himself from one place to another, eliminating barriers between locations. After that, David leaves home to live alone and spends this time learning to master his teleportation skills, with his primary goal set on robbing banks. Years later, David (played by Hayden Christensen) leads a carefree and luxurious life. However, his good days are about to come to an end as a mysterious organization called "The Paladins" specialized in tracking down individuals with teleportation abilities is after him.
