Taxi driver Li Mi (played by Zhou Xun) keeps muttering mysterious numbers, and every passenger in her car must answer her one question: Have you seen this man? Li Mi's boyfriend, Fang Wen, has been missing for four years, yet during these four years, he has continuously written to her, updating her on his situation. Unable to find her lover, Li Mi has posted his photo in magazines for identification, living under immense torment every day. One day, she picks up a pair of drug dealers, Qiu Shui Tian (played by Wang Baoqiang) and Qiu Huo Gui, who are in Kunming from Yunnan waiting for a deal. The drug dealers discover that the "link man" has mysteriously fallen off a bridge during the transaction, and in a panic, they encounter Li Mi, who is returning to give them their money. In a frantic effort, Qiu Huo Gui tries to rob her for the loss of their money. Li Mi seizes the opportunity to call the police, but then Qiu Shui Tian asks her to find his first love, Xiao Xiang, and lets her go. Meanwhile, the "link man" who fell from the bridge collides head-on with Ma Bing (played by Deng Chao) and Fei Fei (played by Wang Ning), resulting in his death. Ma Bing and Fei Fei inadvertently become entangled in this murder case.
