Tang Baojia (Zhang Fengyi) is a handsome and upright commoner youth who, pressured by his parents and the harsh realities, elopes with his beloved Lu Yao (Guan Zhilin). However, they are unexpectedly caught, and he is sentenced to death. The treacherous Wei Zhongxian is organizing his own Jinyiwei (Embroidered Uniform Guard) and sets his sights on the imprisoned Tang Baojia.
