Sawako (Hana Kuroki) and Toshio (Masaki Emoto) are a married couple who have been together for many years. Both were once manga artists, but now Toshio has given up his manga career and only assists his wife, while Sawako's career is thriving. The manga that Sawako creates is overseen by a young editor named Chika (Nao), who is actually having an illicit affair with Toshio, unbeknownst to Sawako. 　Sawako's mother injures her leg in an accident, prompting Sawako and Toshio to return to their hometown for a temporary stay.
