This is a perfect beach holiday, at least for a family, a young couple, several tourists, and an exile who all believe so. They arrive at the same tranquil, idyllic little bay with rocky pools and beaches, surrounded by lush, dense cliffs. But behind this utopia lies a dark secret: first, there is a floating female corpse in the crystal-clear water. There's also a bizarre fact unfolding: all the children are aging rapidly. Soon, everyone discovers they are growing old—every half hour—and they seem to have no way to leave this small bay. Shyamalan says the film is inspired by the French graphic novel "Sandcastle" created by Pierre Oscar Levy and artist Frederik Peeters. In the story of "Sandcastle," there are 13 people who cannot leave a mysterious, secluded beach that hides a dark secret involving time. However, the comic does not provide the reason behind this time mystery, resembling more of a prophecy story about survival and death. But "OLD" is not a direct adaptation of this graphic novel, so Shyamalan himself will come to complete this story and imagination.
