In the winter of 1947, to seize the distribution map of the Northeast Advance Army from the hands of bandits, the captain of the Northeast Democratic United Army's 203rd squad, Shao Jianbo (played by Lin Gengxin), assigns scout Yang Zirong (played by Zhang Hanyu) to go undercover into the largest bandit stronghold, "Tiger Mountain." Using his quick wit and adaptability, Yang Zirong earns the recognition of the bandit leader, Zuoshan Diao (played by Leung Ka-fai), and the eight key bandits under him, becoming known as "Old Nine" of Tiger Mountain. Suspecting him, Zuoshan Diao repeatedly sends people to test Yang Zirong. While Yang Zirong navigates the complex dynamics with the bandits, he also risks danger to relay information to his comrades below the mountain. Just as one crisis subsides, another arises: the bandit liaison officer Luan Ping (played by Du Yiheng), captured by the 203rd squad, escapes amidst the chaos and confronts Yang Zirong in Tiger Mountain, aware of his undercover status, putting Yang Zirong in a precarious position...
