As a novice lawyer just starting out, Mitch (played by Tom Cruise) is fortunate to catch the attention of a prestigious law firm, which not only values him in terms of his position but also provides substantial financial assistance to him and his wife Abby (played by Jeanne Tripplehorn). With his straightforward and kind personality, along with a strong sense of justice, Mitch decides to make his mark in the legal field. However, as time goes on, he discovers that the cases handled by the firm are not as simple as they appear. Beyond the mysterious deaths of lawyers, the firm has intricate illegal ties to organized crime. Young Mitch finds himself at a crossroads in life: should he conform to the firm’s arrangements and go along with the corruption, or bravely step forward and assist the police in investigating the firm’s secrets at the risk of his own life? Mitch already has his answer.
