Gray (Logan Marshall-Green) and his girlfriend Asha (Melanie Vallejo) have been in a loving relationship for many years. One day, Gray takes Asha to visit a scientist named Alan (Harrison Gilbertson), who has designed an artificial intelligence chip called STEM that leaves Asha in awe. On their way back, the self-driving car that Gray and Asha are in malfunctions and takes them to a slum where thugs gather. There, they are attacked, and Asha tragically loses her life while Gray is severely injured and paralyzed from the waist down. Overwhelmed by pain and despair, Gray seeks revenge for his lover, so he contacts Alan and has the STEM chip implanted in his brain. Under STEM's control, Gray gets back on his feet. What Gray didn't expect is that STEM's intelligence far exceeds his imagination, and he becomes embroiled in a massive conspiracy.
