Day for Night is a film technique term that refers to shooting night scenes during the day. The film tells a story set during the process of making a movie. "Meet Pamela" is currently in full swing of shooting, and director Ferrand (played by François Truffaut) not only has to manage the film production but also look after the emotions of the actors. This includes the emotional issues of the sensitive lead character Alphonse (played by Jean-Pierre Léaud) and the mentally troubled actress Julie Baker (played by Jacqueline Bisset). The movie needs to be completed before the agreed time, but the shooting progress is not going well, and everything looks so bad. Can "Meet Pamela" still be finished? The film wonderfully showcases the process of making a movie with a "play within a play" structure. This film won the 1974 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
