Colinini (Franco Nero) is an old hard worker who has been diligent for decades. One day, he unexpectedly surrenders to the police, claiming he killed a man named Meyer (Manfred Zapatka). Ryan (Elyas M'Barek) is the lawyer assigned to defend Colinini, and this is the first case he has taken on as a newcomer. In reality, Meyer is an old acquaintance of Ryan, who had received a lot of support from him in the past. Meanwhile, Ryan's opponent Richard (Heiner Lauterbach) is a very experienced courtroom veteran. Throughout the process of seeking the truth, Colinini remains silent, leaving Ryan with no way to demonstrate his abilities. However, as the investigation progresses, Ryan discovers that he is about to unveil a huge dark shadow looming over Germany's judicial history.
