The story is divided into five chapters. During World War II, in German-occupied France, Colonel Hans (played by Christoph Waltz), known as the "Jew Hunter," is involved in a massacre of Jews, during which a young girl named Shoshanna (played by Mélanie Laurent) manages to escape. At the same time, a group of eight Jewish American soldiers, led by Lieutenant Aldo (played by Brad Pitt), infiltrates German-occupied France to assassinate German military personnel. Their operations are stealthy and brutal, posing a significant threat to the German forces, and they are referred to as "Basterds." Three years later, Shoshanna comes to Paris to inherit her aunt's cinema and meets the German war hero, Fredrick (played by Daniel Brühl), the star of the film "Nation’s Pride." Fredrick, who falls in love with Shoshanna at first sight, persuades the German propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels (played by Sylvester Groth) to premiere "Nation’s Pride" at Shoshanna's cinema, with Hitler (played by Martin Wuttke) himself in attendance. Shoshanna decides to use the screening as an opportunity to burn down the cinema; meanwhile, under the arrangement of the German spy actress Brigitte (played by Diane Kruger), a joint assassination mission by the Allies, named "Operation Kino," will also take place on the night of the premiere... This film was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, receiving seven nominations at the 82nd Academy Awards including Best Director and Best Picture, and won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor (Christoph Waltz) and Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival.
