Here in the metropolis of Milan, the economy is booming, and amidst the dazzling scenes of prosperity, crime incidents are inevitably on the rise. Santo Russo is a Calabrian who grew up in the Italian interior. After a spell of petty thefts in the suburbs, he ended up in a juvenile detention center. Later, he decided to follow his ambitions, relying on crime to survive. In just a few years, he grew into a key figure in a powerful and terrifying gang, commanding a group of armed thugs and continuously engaging in various dirty but lucrative businesses: robbery, kidnapping, drug trafficking, money laundering, and, most horrifyingly, murder. In his relentless pursuit of wealth and social satisfaction, Santo Russo finds himself torn between two women: his submissive and loyal wife, and his beautiful, elegant, and unattainable lover. He faces two radically different life choices, and he himself wears two completely opposing faces. Santo's criminal deeds are filled with inevitable choices and painful experiences: the life and death of others, passionate love or family life, a dreamlike middle-class existence, or the brutal social struggle. "Ruthless Brutality" is a narrative spanning a quarter of a century, set against the backdrop of the Italian mafia, telling the story of Santo Russo: during the golden age of fashion, wealth, avant-garde art, and booming disco music, a yuppie mafia member navigates the ever-changing and dazzling reality of Milan. Renato De Maria serves as the director of this film, and co-writes it with Valentina Strada and Federico Gnesini. The film is inspired by "Manager Calibro 9," written by Pietro Colapriccio and Luca Fazzi. Ricardo Scamarcio plays Santo Russo, with additional cast members including Sara Serraiocco, Alessio Praticò, Alessandro Tedeschi, and Marie-Ange Coste. Producers: Angelo Barbagallo and Matilde Barbagallo Production Companies: BIBI FILM and RAI CINEMA
