Due to the blizzard, all flights at the airport were canceled, leaving siblings Spencer (played by Dyllan Christopher) and Catherine (played by Dominique Saldana) stranded in the airport. In airline terminology, Spencer and Catherine are referred to as "UM," or "Unaccompanied Minors," and they are sent to the airport's designated "UM Care Center." In the care center, there are many other children in similar situations as the siblings, where they meet rich girl Grace (played by Gina Mantegna), tomboy Donna (played by Quinn Shephard), genius Charlie (played by Tyler James Williams), and nerdy Timothy (played by Brett Kelly). Unable to endure the chaos and noise in the care center, Spencer and Catherine, along with their four new friends, decide to escape.
