The story takes place during World War II, where a number of German officers are discontent with Hitler's (played by Udo Schenk) brutal tyranny and wish to eliminate the Nazi Party and reconcile with the Allies. However, Hitler is naturally cautious and suspicious, and his erratic movements make him difficult to capture, leading to multiple failed assassination attempts in the past. The only one with hope of getting close to Hitler is a young officer named Stauffenberg (played by Sebastian Koch), who has a distinguished military record and has gained the dictator's favor and trust. Along with his aide Lieutenant Hefter (played by Hardy Krüger Jr.), Stauffenberg embarks on a journey filled with unknowns and dangers, carrying a briefcase packed with explosives. Although the explosives successfully detonate and Stauffenberg manages to escape, unfortunately, Hitler survives, and the planners of this assassination attempt are left to face a fate of death.
