Sabrina (played by Julia Ormond) is the daughter of the driver for the Larrabee family, and she has secretly loved the younger son, David (played by Greg Kinnear), since childhood. The public's opinion of David pales in comparison to that of his brother Linus (played by Harrison Ford), who is praised for his wisdom, calmness, and business acumen. The younger son is seen merely as a playboy, indulging in a life of leisure and flirting. Sabrina, however, pays no mind to those judgments; she loves David wholeheartedly. Her father, worried about her unrequited feelings, sends her to Paris for further studies, hoping she can break free from her narrow surroundings and see the wider world. Upon returning from Paris, Sabrina is transformed, exuding grace, confidence, and femininity. David quickly falls for her, even considering her over his fiancée, which causes panic within the family. Linus intentionally approaches Sabrina, hoping to send her away, but the plot begins to slip from his control...
