The camera focuses on a boy named Bud (played by Leigh McCormack), who lost his father at a young age and lives a life of dependence with his mother (Marjorie Yates) and older brother. Bud's entire childhood is shrouded in loneliness and isolation in his memories. At school, he sits alone in class, daydreams by himself, and goes home alone, constantly wary of the threats and teasing from stronger boys in his class. After returning home, Bud is always by himself. His mother suggests he spend more time with friends, but she doesn't know that Bud doesn't have even one person he can truly call a friend. He spends his days observing and listening to the world and lost in his own thoughts. As night falls, terrifying nightmares come to him. Thus, day after day, Bud grows up. What feelings will he have when he looks back on this ordinary yet unique childhood?
