Zhu Wulang (played by Wu Ma) is the head of a martial arts school. He is very superstitious and dresses his daughter Yingcai (played by Luo Huijuan) as a boy, making her study martial arts from a young age. Zhu's disciples see Yingcai as a junior brother. However, Yingcai secretly has feelings for her senior brother Huashan Bo and repeatedly expresses her affection. Yet, Huashan Bo misunderstands it all, thinking the junior brother has homosexual tendencies. Maria (played by Zhu Mimi) is a woman who runs the Ma family Tai Chi school next door to Zhu Wulang's, and the two often clash. Maria has a niece Mengli who has returned from Japan; she is a health dance teacher trying to modernize the Ma family's Tai Chi. Consequently, Zhu's disciples flock to the Ma family to learn health dance in pursuit of Mengli, which angers Zhu even more. On the day Mengli returns to Hong Kong, she is harassed by a rude man, but fortunately, Yingcai comes to her rescue and secretly develops feelings for her. Meanwhile, Huashan Bo also starts to have feelings for Mengli, leading to a love triangle. Yingcai attempts to confess her true identity to her senior brother but is met with her father's opposition, resulting in a heated argument. Yingcai decides to run away from home but encounters a spirit during the Ghost Festival in July, leading to many humorous misunderstandings between genders.
