The promising young man Che Wenjie (played by Andy Lau) encounters the daughter of the company boss, Cheng Le'er (played by Rosamund Kwan). With the matchmaking help of Le'er’s friend Banana (played by Chingmy Yau), the two quickly fall in love. When Le’er's ex-boyfriend Jin Moji (played by Lee Siu-Ming) learns of the situation, he immediately harbors hostility towards Che Wenjie and hires prank specialist Gu Jing (played by Stephen Chow) to make Che Wenjie lose everything. Thus, Gu Jing impersonates Che Wenjie’s father, Che Qinren (played by Ng Man Tat), claiming to be his illegitimate son from the mainland, causing chaos. Gu Jing’s arrival disrupts Che Wenjie’s life, as everything seems to be under Gu Jing's control. However, Banana discovers Gu Jing's true identity and persuades him to remember the care the Che family has shown him, turning around to help Che Wenjie deal with Jin Moji.
