The second part continues the style of the first part while presenting a multi-threaded story, enhancing the plot's entertainment value. At the end of the first part, Boromir is killed by strong orcs, and the two hobbits, Pippin and Merry, are also captured by the orcs. Aragorn, the elf Legolas (played by Orlando Bloom), and the dwarf Gimli track the orcs to rescue Pippin and Merry, encountering the "resurrected" wizard Gandalf (played by Ian McKellen). At this time, Saruman, the white wizard who has surrendered to Sauron, controls the king of the human kingdom of Rohan and sends out a large army of orcs to prepare to exterminate humanity. Led by Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli help the kingdom of Rohan resist the invasion of evil forces. Fortunately, Pippin and Merry are rescued by talking Ents and meet the "resurrected" Gandalf. At Gandalf's suggestion, the Ents protect the two's safety and take them to the Entmoot, where the Ents discuss their stance on the War of Middle-earth: should they continue to remain neutral, passively accept their fate, or rise up in resistance? The burdened Frodo (played by Elijah Wood) and Sam continue to advance toward Mount Doom, being tracked by Gollum along the way. Frodo, relying on the power of the One Ring, becomes Gollum's master, and under Gollum's guidance, they reach the entrance of Mount Doom, the Black Gate. Just as they are about to enter, Boromir's brother Faramir appears, taking them back to Gondor. Frodo faces a new crisis: Faramir wants to use the power of the One Ring to counter Saruman's attack...
