Once, Napoleon (played by Marlon Brando) fell in love with a beautiful girl named Désirée (played by Jean Simmons). As time passed, Désirée's love for Napoleon deepened, and she even went so far as to give him a substantial amount of money to support her beloved man. However, Napoleon soon realized that Désirée could not help him achieve his ambitions in the political arena, and he turned to pursue the socialite Josephine (played by Merle Oberon). Heartbroken and filled with grief, Désirée married General Bernadotte (played by Michael Rennie). Later, Napoleon swiftly rose to the pinnacle of power, while General Bernadotte openly opposed Napoleon's rule. After the battle of Moscow, the defeated Napoleon was exiled to a deserted island, but his ambition did not die. Désirée intervened and tried to persuade her former lover to renounce war and accept exile.
