In 1978, in Italy, Vikramaditya is a world-renowned palmist. He is known as the "Einstein of Palmistry" and is a follower of Paramahamsa. Vikramaditya does not believe in love, nor does he want to be a doctor. They meet on a train but later part ways. One day, Vikramaditya is asked to read the palm of a businessman named Anand Rajput. Since Vikramaditya cannot predict a favorable future for him, Rajput's thugs chase him, leading to his accident. He ends up in Prerana's hospital and receives treatment there. After recovering, Vikramaditya suggests Prerana flirt with him. However, Prerana leaves the town, and Vikramaditya follows her all the way. She accepts, and they start dating. However, Prerana's uncle advises her not to develop any feelings for Vikramaditya. When Vikramaditya and Prerana are traveling on the train, a stranger asks him to read his daughter's palm, as she is an aspiring archer. He predicts that she has no future in sports and should focus on education. Everyone around the coach is amazed by Vikramaditya's skill and asks him for predictions by showing their palms, but Vikramaditya hesitates and gives in with Prerana. However, he realizes that everyone on the train is destined to die immediately. He tries to run after the train to stop it but fails. Later that night, a train accident occurs, resulting in many casualties. Prerana begins to believe in palmistry and asks Vikramaditya to read her palm. He predicts she will have a long life with a bright future, but she immediately faints and starts to bleed from her nose. Prerana is taken to the hospital, where her uncle, also a doctor, reveals that she has an incurable tumor and may die within months. Vikramaditya disagrees with this, as he predicts otherwise, but he is thrown out of the hospital. Prerana now holds hope for her life. On the other hand, her uncle believes Vikramaditya is a fraud and that only medicine can change her fate. He tests Vikramaditya using the palm of a dead person, and Vikramaditya correctly deduces everything. Her uncle changes his mind and believes Vikramaditya's prophecy. As expected, a treatment for Prerana's illness is found. Overjoyed, Prerana proposes to Vikramaditya. However, he declines, saying he cannot love her because he has no "love line" and will soon leave the country. Dejected, Prerana attempts to commit suicide but inadvertently finds Vikramaditya's diary. She learns that Vikramaditya is prepared to sacrifice his life to save her. Before leaving, Vikramaditya takes Prerana to a ball, where the couple shares an intimate night together. Prerana leaves a note in the diary stating that if the situation arises, she would choose to give up her life. She willingly meets with an accident and is admitted to the hospital. Vikramaditya is in London attending his mother's dance performance while reading Prerana's note in the diary. He calls the hospital and is shocked to learn about Prerana's condition. He urges Prerana to survive and promises he will meet her soon. When Vikramaditya is torn about his prediction, he encounters a girl on the train who lost her hand in the accident. She tells Vikramaditya that since she now has no palm, she can write her own fate. Vikramaditya, now rushing to meet Prerana, boards a cargo ship going to Italy, captained by someone he met in the hospital. However, the ship encounters a storm at sea, and everyone obeys the captain's order to abandon ship. However, Vikramaditya is left trapped on the ship. Overwhelmed by the forces of nature, Vikramaditya struggles for survival. He recalls his mentor Paramahamsa's saying that palmistry has only a 99% accuracy, and 1% of people will write their own destiny. Determined to survive, he does everything he can to reach a high point and fires a flare gun. The captain returns with a lifeboat. The ship sinks, but Vikramaditya manages to float up. Eventually, Vikramaditya arrives at the hospital and reunites with the recovered Prerana.
