Gabriel (Fernando Valverde) and his wife Carmen (Silvia Munt) have been married for many years. Carmen gives birth to their lovely daughter Ami (Susana García Díez). Although Gabriel hopes for a boy, he still loves Ami dearly. Later, Carmen becomes pregnant again, and Ami has a younger brother. After the brother is born, Ami's situation begins to worsen as her parents' attention shifts predominantly to the baby, leaving Ami feeling neglected. Ultimately, Ami commits a mistake that she can never atone for. In an atmosphere of indifference and guilt, Ami grows up, but her family has long been shattered. In an accident, Ami is violated, and as a result, her father will spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair while her mother suffers a mental breakdown. In the meantime, Ami discovers that she is pregnant.
