It is reported that Christian Bale will join Oscar Isaac in starring in the new film "The Promise," directed by Terry George ("Hotel Rwanda"). The film is a romance, and the script is written by Robin Swicord, who also wrote "Memoirs of a Geisha." The story is set during the final years of the Ottoman Empire (1922), where Bale plays an American journalist stationed in Paris named Chris, Isaac plays medical student Michael, and the female lead Anna becomes entangled in a passionate love triangle.
