Hot-blooded Grandma Ro Yu-fen (played by Ro Wen-ji) has a straightforward personality and stands up for justice. For many years, she has focused on reporting unlawful activities happening in her community, earning her the nickname "Ghost Grandma." Her "rival" is Park Min-jae (played by Lee Deok-hun), a newly appointed grassroots civil servant in the petition office. The two engage in noisy arguments without a clear winner. One day, Grandma Ro suddenly insists that Park Min-jae become her English teacher. She has a brother living in the United States who does not understand a word of Korean, and Grandma Ro can only communicate with him if she learns English. As they go through the learning process, the relationship between Park Min-jae and Grandma Ro becomes increasingly harmonious. However, Min-jae discovers that Grandma Ro's brother actually does not want to talk to her. During a conflict, he accidentally reveals the truth to her. Just then, Grandma Ro develops an urgent reason to learn English; she wants to go to the United States to tell the world about her experiences as a comfort woman, forcing the Japanese government to apologize for their inhumane actions.
