Market salesman Gan Xiaowen (played by Tan Yaowen) is inherently stingy and outspoken, viewing the destruction of his friends' happiness as a natural occurrence and a way of survival. Over time, everyone around him keeps their distance until one day, Gan Xiaowen has a dream: in the dream, he meets his conscience, which tells him that he has only seven days left to live. Within these seven days, Gan Xiaowen is destined to die. Skeptical, he attends the wedding of his only friend, Tie Nan, but at the wedding, he drunkenly reveals an affair he had with the bride, A Yin, causing the celebration to end unhappily and resulting in his expulsion from the banquet hall. While driving home intoxicated, he gets into a severe accident. During his coma, his conscience appears again and promises to give him a chance to change, under the condition that seven people must visit him within seven days.
Revived Gan Xiaowen returns to his company, but his colleagues ignore him, and no one is willing to be his savior. To save himself, Gan vows to improve his interpersonal relationships. Guided by an advertisement, he arrives at EQ University, hoping to learn how to enhance his relationships and find seven saviors. There, he encounters a female version of himself, a beautiful yet harsh woman with a tight-fisted attitude—grocery store owner A Tong (played by Li Lijuan). A Tong is more skilled than Gan, and in her presence, he finds his tactics futile. Comparing himself to A Tong, Gan realizes how inadequate he has been, so he decides to change her, unknowingly starting to change himself in the process.
Meanwhile, the secret of the one-night affair ultimately leads to the breakup between Tie Nan and A Yin. Once the secret is exposed by Gan, A Yin feels relieved, while Tie Nan, after calming down, reflects on the matter and realizes that Gan's revelation has removed their lasting bond of unhappiness. They begin to ponder Gan's redeeming qualities. As the seven-day limit approaches, in an attempt to save A Tong, Gan gets severely injured again. On the final day of the seven-day limit, apart from the downcast A Tong, no one else appears at Gan's hospital bedside. In despair, Gan closes his eyes...
