Zhu Qi (Liu Xin You) has always hoped to become an actress. However, after years of struggling in the entertainment industry without much luck, she still can only play small supporting roles in dramas. By chance, the big boss of a film company, Jeff (Lin De Xin), takes notice of Zhu Qi and specifically selects her as the female lead in a highly popular New Year's movie. Excited yet fearful that her married status might affect her career, Zhu Qi decides to hide this fact. Zhu Qi's husband, Lai Mao (Zhou Bai Hao), is an entertainment reporter. For the sake of his wife's future, he reluctantly goes along with Zhu Qi's plans. However, as Zhu Qi becomes more famous, Lai Mao feels an increasing distance between them, leading him to doubt her. After infiltrating the film crew, he discovers that there is an ambiguous relationship between Zhu Qi and Jeff.
