In 1964, post-war Japan was experiencing a period of rapid economic growth, with the Tokyo Olympics just around the corner, and the entire nation was engulfed in excitement. The San Chome of Yuyamacho, which we are familiar with, was also witnessing subtle changes in people's lives.
