Retired military officer Old Ding (played by Sammo Hung) loses his granddaughter due to "amnesia" and returns home filled with guilt. A neighbor girl, Chunhua (played by Chen Peiyan), becomes his solace. However, the girl's father (played by Andy Lau) unintentionally gets caught up in local gang conflicts.
