"My Pet Dinosaur" tells the story of the young male protagonist Jack and his friends Charles, Abbie, and others who are obsessed with UFOs, often going to the forest to "hunt for UFOs." Unfortunately, they do not find any traces of alien life, but they accidentally collect some strange gooey substance and bring it home. By a stroke of fate, Jack creates a dinosaur from the goo, a very cute, curiosity-filled, chameleon-like dinosaur resembling a stegosaurus, which he names "Magnus."
