The story takes place in Kobe, adjacent to the sea, where an old Western-style building stands at the top of a slope. Inside lives a somewhat unconventional dressmaker, Michie (played by Miki Nakatani). Michie runs a tailoring shop inherited from her grandmother, who upheld the philosophy of “making clothes that people can wear for a lifetime” during her lifetime. Every stitch embodies the creator's dedication and soul. Michie diligently follows in her grandmother's footsteps, passionately resizing garments passed down through generations while refusing to commercialize this craft. Fujii (played by Takahiro Miura), an employee from a local department store, visits repeatedly, hoping Michie will allow her clothes to enter the market. Perhaps out of respect for her grandmother, perhaps due to her devotion to the craft, or perhaps from an underlying anxiety and wariness, Michie finds it hard to take this important step... This film is adapted from Akira Ikebei's original work of the same name.
