The film is inspired by China's breakthrough in winning its first gold medal at the Winter Olympics, telling the story of winter athletes striving forward and bringing glory to the country. The Chinese delegation began participating in the Winter Olympics in 1980, repeatedly missing out on gold medals, failure and regret piercing the hearts of the Chinese people like needles. To achieve a breakthrough, Qin Shan formed the Chinese short track speed skating national team, represented by Yang Fan, and took on the mission to redeem past failures. The two set out to challenge for the gold medal, while their master-student relationship faces intense clashes and numerous tests...The film is the third part of the "China Olympic Sports Film Trilogy" ("An Olympic for One," "Xu Haifeng's Gun," "My Heart Soars").
