The legendary diva Yao Xiaodie (played by Liu Yali) returns to Hong Kong from Canada to perform a commemorative concert at the soon-to-be-demolished Lihua Palace, the place where she began her singing career with her sisters Lulu (played by Luo Guanlan), Lianqian (played by Feng Weiheng), and Fengping (played by Su Yuhua). In the 1960s, the shadow of war in Southeast Asia also cast its gloom over Hong Kong. At that time, the four sisters were just starting their singing journey at Lihua Palace. Fengping, burdened by her gambling boyfriend, faced financial difficulties while being pregnant and ultimately disappeared in the chaotic Nanyang, marking the end of the carefree days for the sisters. Xiaodie has feelings for the saxophonist Jiahao (played by Wu Dawei), but he realizes that Xiaodie's future will be much brighter than his own, so he leaves behind a song "A Date with Spring" and disappears into the vast crowd... This film is adapted from a renowned play by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, with the cast primarily consisting of the original stage performers.
