In the arid highlands of Bolivia, an elderly couple from the Quechua community, who make a living by herding llamas, have been living a life of mutual support. However, a once-in-a-generation drought has exacerbated their already meager existence, threatening not only their lives but also the survival of their entire village. Their grandson returns from the city, wanting them to move in with him, but for the couple who have grown accustomed to rural life, this presents another harsh challenge. Three people from two generations will view the changes in society and nature, as well as the meaning of life, in different ways.
