Doug (played by David Tennant) and his wife Abi (played by Rosamund Pike) take their three children on a road trip to the remote Scottish Highlands to celebrate Doug's father Gordy's (played by Billy Connolly) birthday. Their oldest daughter is a meticulous girl who records important things in her diary, their son is a book-loving boy, and their youngest daughter is an adorable girl who carries two large stones everywhere she goes and talks to them.
