Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), a young British man who has just entered society, disregards his family's objections and passionately immerses himself in the film industry he loves, hoping to make a name for himself. His first opportunity on a film set is as the third assistant director for his idol, Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh), who is directing and starring in the new movie "The Prince and the Showgirl." The film features the globally famous American actress Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams), and Colin's job is to manage the various chores of the crew. After filming begins, intense conflicts arise between Monroe and Olivier due to their differing acting methods, causing the project to fall significantly behind schedule. Colin is tasked with mediating, and he begins to interact frequently with Monroe. Unknowingly, Colin finds himself deeply captivated by Monroe's charm... Michelle Williams won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Comedy/Musical) for this film in 2012.
