This film is adapted from the international bestseller by Robert Harris. In the fall of 1938, Europe is on the brink of war. Adolf Hitler is preparing to invade Czechoslovakia, while Neville Chamberlain's government desperately seeks a peaceful solution. As tensions rise, British civil servant Hugh Legat and German diplomat Paul von Hartmann travel to Munich for an emergency meeting. As negotiations begin, the two old friends find themselves ensnared in a web of political intrigue, facing extraordinary danger. With the eyes of the world upon them, can war be avoided? If so, what price must be paid?
