After the Battle of Liuhe Tower, Qianlong used the Red Flower Society to eliminate dissenters and firmly grasped political power. The leader of the Red Flower Society, Chen Jialuo, went to the Western Regions alone due to his longing for Huo Qingtong and met Princess Xiangxiang, who secretly admired him. Deeply in love with Jialuo, Qingtong had to hide her feelings. After Jialuo returned to Beijing, the Qing army heavily deployed in the region, Mu Zhuolun was killed, Qingtong went missing, and Princess Xiangxiang was captured and presented to Qianlong. Qianlong deceived Jialuo into persuading Princess Xiangxiang to obey him and secretly plotted to wipe out the leaders of the Red Flower Society. Princess Xiangxiang helped Jialuo in the anti-Qing cause and sacrificed herself. After discovering the conspiracy, she committed suicide. Qianlong set up an ambush that led to the demise of all the leaders of the Red Flower Society, leaving only Jialuo to escape. For revenge, he returned to the Western Regions.
