In a corner of a bustling city, a single woman named Jeong-ya (played by Kong Sung-yeon) lives alone. She works as a call center operator, handling customer inquiries and complaints daily; regardless of the other party's emotional state, she cannot show any personal feelings. After work, she returns home alone; although she rents an apartment, she rarely communicates with her landlord and neighbors, maintaining a significant sense of distance. One day, Jeong-ya's stagnant life begins to stir when a neighbor, who she only nods to in passing, is found dead in their home after being missing for several days, leading Jeong-ya to see a glimpse of her own potential fate. Meanwhile, her company leadership assigns her to mentor an intern. The intern, new and curious about everything, contrasts with Jeong-ya, who is used to solitude and deliberately keeps her distance from the newcomer, even expressing clear resistance and dislike towards this outsider. Life, akin to a machine, causes urban dwellers to forget their inner desires...
