This film is a mocumentary (mockumentary), featuring interviews with Taiwanese legislator Qiu Yi and well-known artists like Tsai Kang-yung, Xiao S, and Ella. Due to his starring roles in Taiwan's new films "Xiao Bi's Story" and "The Man from the Wind Cabinet," and directing idol dramas like "Proposal Agency" and "Kiss of the Toast Man," Douzi (Niu Chengze) took to the streets to ask Taiwanese people about "happiness." Everyone shook their heads. He then discussed the chaotic state of affairs in Taiwan, including media issues, with friends like "Hala Friend" Chen Xisheng (producer of films such as Yang Dechang’s "Yi Yi") and Feng Jiarui (the father of Taiwanese idol dramas). They believed that all the chaos stemmed from political forces and became increasingly excited, leading to the idea of making a mocumentary. The filming plan is as follows: the camera will capture the process of an actor, backed by Shi Mingde, pulling off legislator Qiu Yi's wig, the male lead self-immolating in front of the Presidential Office, and crashing a car into the Presidential Office, making the audience mistakenly think these events were not staged, and to see what reactions would arise. Chen Shui-bian, who angered the public in Taiwan, is nicknamed "Duck Meat Bian," because his name sounds similar to a store called "Duck Meat Bian" located at the corner of Wuchang Street and Zhonghua Road in Taipei. This nickname suggests that people can eat and curse at him simultaneously. Thus, the film is titled "The Uprising of Wuchang Street," which is both cliché and revolutionary. Subsequently, Chen Xisheng agreed to be the producer, and a new crew composed of Douzi's company staff was officially formed. After receiving the approval for the National Film Grant (Niu Chengze indeed obtained 3.5 million in 2005 with this plan), Douzi and Chen Xisheng began looking for investments and actors. However, the shoot immediately became a nightmare: when the male lead Qu Zhongheng heard the filming plan and knew he had to finance himself, he fled immediately; the company account was empty... To secure funding and ensure the film was shot on time, Douzi did many regrettable things. The embarrassment of filmmakers' desperate attempts to survive due to the poor state of the Taiwanese film industry was fully revealed. After a media report of an incident involving a female actress, his already troubled marriage with Ning Ning (Zhang Juning) nearly collapsed. Coupled with unresolved issues from years ago related to his mother, his life seemed to descend into an irretrievable abyss in an instant.
