Young Eddie (Donnie Yen) is obsessed with breakdancing, and his every move in life follows the rhythm of dance. His older sister Ah Ying, still unmarried at her age, runs a fast-food restaurant with the help of their cousin Sibala (Lorene Won), who has a crush on Eddie. One day, Eddie encounters a down-and-out martial artist, Big Eye (Yuen Woo-ping), and invites him to work at his family’s restaurant after seeing his impressive skills and desperate hunger. Breakdancing master Kenny returns to Hong Kong and makes bold advances toward Eddie's classmate Anna. Young and impulsive, Eddie engages in a series of dance battles with Kenny, using both straightforward and sneaky moves, incorporating tennis street dancing and various tricks. Meanwhile, the relationship between Big Eye and Ah Ying, an older single pair, develops quietly. Although Eddie wins against Kenny in the dance-offs, Sibala becomes jealous, and Eddie's attempts to express his feelings with a remote-controlled car fail to win her back. At this moment, a martial arts enthusiast (Dicky Cheung) mistakenly identifies Eddie as a martial arts master and challenges him to a duel...
