This film is based on a true story. In mid-19th century Argentina, a young Catholic believer, Camila, falls in love with a Jesuit priest. Although both struggle to suppress their feelings and suffer in pain, Camila ultimately takes a brave first step and experiences brief happiness. However, their union violates family and church regulations, leading to pursuit by the authorities. After fleeing hundreds of miles, they are tragically captured and eventually executed.
