Thirty-three-year-old Ayaka Yamanaka (played by Juri Ueno) has been living a solitary life. By chance, she meets a man named Ito (played by Masaya Nakamura). Despite Ito being twenty years older than Ayaka, having no formal job, and living a laid-back life, his gentleness and charm capture Ayaka's heart, and they begin cohabiting. Ayaka's father (played by Tatsuya Fuji) is a stubborn and tough old man who protests by running away from home during a conflict. Unbeknownst to Ayaka, he abruptly moves into her house, discovering the relationship she has been hiding. He looks down on this prospective son-in-law, who is not much younger than himself, leading to an escalating tension between them as the gap closes.
