Keiko Gota (played by Yoko Nanhano), who works at a travel agency, suddenly discovers one day that she is a carrier of HIV. Upon investigation, it is revealed that her high school lover contracted the virus from a contaminated blood transfusion abroad and transmitted it to her through sexual relations. Reporter Miyuki Tsushima (played by Kaoru Nanba) learns of this and rushes to interview Keiko, hoping to change public perception of HIV patients through her experience. Keiko starts dating Takano (played by Hidekazu Akai), but she dares not reveal the truth. After a failed suicide attempt, she confesses everything to Takano, who cannot accept the reality and leaves her. At this time, Tsushima's persistence and sincerity provide some comfort to the emotionally and physically wounded Keiko. One day, Keiko discovers she is pregnant. Will the child also be a carrier of HIV? How will the life of a soon-to-be mother Keiko come to an end? Based on the award-winning novel of the same name by Yasuo Kadota.
