Six years ago, NASA observed extraterrestrial civilization, but a survey spacecraft crashed in Mexico on its way back. Since then, many areas in Mexico have been infected by mysterious alien creatures, resulting in countless civilian deaths. The U.S. sent troops to fight the enormous alien monsters, resulting in heavy casualties on both sides. Los Angeles journalist Andre Carter (Scoot McNairy) accepts a request from a billionaire to go to the infection zone in Mexico to find his daughter, Samantha Wynden (Whitney Able). Andre successfully finds Samantha, and they immediately board a train heading to the U.S., but the train turns back midway. They are forced to find other ways to return home, but fate seems unpredictable, and their journey back appears fraught with danger.
