In 1944, at Columbia University, a young student named Allen Ginsberg (played by Daniel Radcliffe) has his life changed by a handsome classmate named Lucien Carr (played by Dane DeHaan). Through Carr, he meets William S. Burroughs (played by Ben Foster) and Jack Kerouac (played by Jack Huston). At that time, these future literary giants who would write masterpieces like "Howl", "Naked Lunch", and "On the Road" were just inexperienced young men. They enthusiastically engage in a cultural movement called "New Vision" because of Carr, forming a close-knit four-person world. Outside this world, a middle-aged man named David Kammerer (played by Michael C. Hall) watches them with longing eyes. He is Carr's teacher, guardian, stalker, and... lover? One night, after Kammerer's body is discovered in the Hudson River near campus, the young men find themselves embroiled in a murder case filled with emotional turmoil, causing their free world to be completely shattered as they each go their separate ways with heavy hearts... This film is based on a true story, telling of the "little revolution" experienced by future literary giants during their formative years, playing the initial movements of the birth of the "Beat Generation" with dark notes. British child star Daniel Radcliffe portrays the famous gay poet Ginsberg, successfully shedding the traces left by Harry Potter. "Kill Your Darlings" was nominated for the U.S. Grand Jury Prize at the 29th Sundance Film Festival.
