Female university student Vandenne (Sophie Marceau) is working hard to obtain her teaching qualification. One day, at a ski resort, Vandenne meets the charming musician Nedd (Vincent Lindon). To relieve the tension and pressure from her exams, Vandenne and Nedd begin a brief romantic affair, agreeing that they will only act on physical desires without emotional involvement. However, after one night, Vandenne finds herself deeply infatuated with Nedd, who is secretly captivated by her charm as well. After they part ways, the two cannot meet frequently and can only share their feelings over the phone, leading to misunderstandings. The proud Vandenne, in a fit of anger, chooses to leave Nedd behind, while Nedd cannot let go of his love for her. In a twist of fate, the two lovers who are mutually attracted are on the verge of missing each other.
