Laike (13 years old) is the daughter of a prominent Labour Party politician. She accidentally hits her classmate Jamie, who is the son of a local right-wing politician. Laike claims Jamie's death was an accident, but no one believes her. The school principal, Liv, is an idealist who goes against her political beliefs and has been secretly involved with Jamie's father, Karl Erik. When they can no longer keep their relationship a secret, the surrounding environment reacts in unbelievable ways. Liv's brother Anders is Laike and Jamie's homeroom teacher. He was supposed to be on the school playground when the incident occurred, but feels deep guilt for failing to prevent it. Just as water surrounds the ocean floor, we will experience the community's relationship with the incident and its consequences. How did this happen? How is it possible to continue living afterwards?
