"The Girl's Emotions Are Always Poetry" is the most controversial film at the 1977 Cannes Film Festival, depicting the budding romance of a female student and her first love, intertwined with elements of lesbian relationships. The title "Biltis" refers to a courtesan from ancient Greece who lived on Cyprus, known for writing poetry about lesbian love in a style similar to that of the ancient Greek poet Sappho. As a result, she became a symbol of Western lesbianism, and the island "Lesbos," where she and Sappho lived, is the origin of the term "lesbian." In 1955, one of the earliest lesbian organizations adopted the name "Daughters of Bilitis."
