Old Well King (Ni Dahong) has spent most of his life in underground mines, accumulating rich experience and truly being an old veteran in this field. He has trained a group of excellent and brave apprentices, earning the trust and love of his peers. Just as he is preparing to retire and enjoy his later years, the coal boss informs him that he must carry out one more blasting operation in the mine. Unbeknownst to him, this final task leads Old Well King to face the greatest crisis of his career.
With his apprentices, including Little Guangxi (Chen Xiaodong), Old Well King ventures deep underground. During the blasting, an accident occurs, causing the mine to collapse and blocking the escape route for Old Well King and his team. The mining disaster quickly attracts media attention, and the family members of the trapped miners rapidly gather at the surface. Above ground, tests of human nature unfold one after another, while below ground, Old Well King desperately searches for a way out with the surviving miners.
